Line number removal strips the numbers at the start of lines, such as those in a numbered list or copied code. This tool removes a number followed by a period, closing parenthesis, or colon and at least one space or tab (1. or 2) or 3:), plus any spaces before it. Numbers elsewhere in a line stay.
